UoH inks pact with US varsity
University of Hyderabad, through its Study in India Programme (SIP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Miami University (MU), Oxford, Ohio, USA, to establish an academic programme for Miami students at University of Hyderabad.
The programme, MU-SIP will have its focus on India-its heritage, languages, literatures, society, cultures as well as sciences.
The programme will offer a wide variety of courses and will be interdisciplinary in nature. The courses under MU-SIP include, regular courses offered at University of Hyderabad as well as courses designed and created for the SIP students.
Three courses on Indian Philosophy specially designed for the group will be offered.
Fifteen students have already signed up for spring 2009 semester.
The students will be accompanied by S.S. Rama Rao Pappu from the University of Miami. The agreement would be in force for a period of five years.
