ABHAI workshop
ABHAI ASSOCIATION of Bharatanatyam Artists of India, will be celebrating its 13th anniversary with a one-day programme on November 18 at the Sathguru Gnanananda Hall (Narada Gana Sabha).
To be inaugurated by Adyar Lakshman, the morning session features Bharatanatyam recitals by youngsters who had earlier attended the monthly workshops conducted by ABHAI along with senior teachers and choreographers. This is to be followed by a lecture demonstration on `Modernity in Tradition' by Sumitra Gouthama, in association with Natyaranga of Narada Gana Sabha. The afternoon session begins with a lecture demonstration `Vatsalya Bhava Through The Ages' by Srilatha Vinod, followed by `New Dimensions in Tillana' choreographed by Narendra Kumar and `Humour in Dance'.
The evening features a short exposition on `Quality View On Video' by Chella, followed by group presentations in Bharatanatyam by Deepak Majumdar from Mumbai, Bhanumati from Bangalore and Geeta Chandran from Delhi.
