Sivaratri special

"Thiruvilayadal" on Jaya TV, March 1, 21.00.

(Jaya TV, Saturday, 21.00)

To help devotees of Lord Siva stay awake all night on Maha Sivaratri, there is a movie double on this channel _ viewers will be entertained with old-time specials on this day.

The Sivaji Ganesan starrer, "Thiruvilayadal", will be aired at 9 p.m., which partially depicts the life of Lord Siva, how he plays mischief with his devotees and how he bestows his blessings on them, without even sparing his own family.

The second film to be aired at midnight is "Thirumalai Thenkumari". The story revolves around different families who set out on a trip together from Thirumalai to Thenkumari. The various temples they cover during their journey and the legends the temples have to say have been beautifully depicted in the film.

Directed by A. P. Nagarajan, both the films, , feature some of the best lilting scores by K. V. Mahadevan and Kunnakudy Vaidyanathan.
