CBI gets nearly 30 per cent hike in budgetary allocation
New Delhi (PTI) The CBI has got nearly a 30 per
cent hike in its budgetary allocation for this year in view of the modernisation plans of the investigative agency.
The CBI will get Rs 334.99 crores this year, which is up 29.3 per cent than last year's Rs 259.06 crores.
The amount has been allocated for expansion of the CBI, which deals with corruption cases.
The money would also be used for modernisation of the CBI Training Academy at Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, construction of the new office building besides acquisition of land for construction of residential premises for the CBI's officers.
The government has also raised the total allocation to meet the requirements for loans to state governments in respect of providing house building advances to All India Service officers nearly by a whooping 270 per cent.
While last year, the total allocation for the same was Rs 36.14 crores, it has been increased to Rs 133.84 crores this year.
