    CEC satisfied with poll arrangements in Karnataka

    Dharwad (PTI): The Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami expressed satisfaction at the arrangements made for the second and third phase of the Karnataka assembly polls on May 16 and 22.

    Speaking to reporters here after reviewing the arrangements with Returning Officers, he said 1915 cases had so far been booked against those violating the model code of conduct, involving an amount of Rs 60 crore.

    The CEC also asked observers and returning officers to take action against those inducing voters.

    He said returning officers and observers for the third phase poll in eight districts should take steps to avoid the lapses, which had occurred in the first phase. PTI COR APRCEC satisfied with arrangments for 2nd and 3rd phase of polls
