CAREER CLUES

Career Clues

THE FIELD of information technology is a young and unbridled one. It aims at achievers who never stop achieving. To be a part of an industry, which is a cut above the rest, is both demanding and challenging.

HTeam spirit-Esprit de corps it is working together that counts. Unlike other industries, where one aims to promote self; IT extols team spirit. This requires a great deal of understanding, modest thoughts about one's abilities, a good ear for listening and an attitude that is anything but dogmatic and "know-it-all".

HA reasonable amount of logical thinking, deduction, and problem solving abilities are essential.

HOne cannot afford to be a 'Luddite', averse to technology, and finding computers loathsome. A love for 'hands on' experience and the urge to prove your worth should drive you to spending hours in front of monitors.

HThe industry needs you to work untiringly. For this you should have an inexhaustible source of energy to power you. People who are jumpy and edgy find it difficult to cope with the stress in the IT Industry. A cool and composed disposition will help you handle bottlenecks and glitches adeptly.

HWorking late hours, unearthly timings. That's the way it works here and sometimes one may have to spend sleepless nights trying to beat the deadlines. Working against time, erratic work schedules, burning the midnight oil is not unusual.

HPerseverance and ambition will keep you going. An attitude to dare it all to face the hardships and challenges with courage will keep you going no matter what. If you figure in this group, its high time you made your entry into this Industry that has IT all!
