know about any job opportunities without gender restrictions in
this field, as these do not generally appear in the career
columns of any newspaper. Also, let me know about higher studies
and any other related courses that I could take up for better
career opportunities abroad.

You have to apply to companies directly, as your line is very
specialised. Most big players do in fact advertise. Companies
like Reliance, Essar, Birlas, etc are involved in the polymer
industry. You can apply to the companies directly. There are also
no gender restrictions in most of these large organisations. As
for higher studies, you can pursue an M.Tech from any of the
major institutes in the country (IISC Bangalore, IITs, BITS etc).
Companies such as EXXON and Royal Dutch proffer good
opportunities abroad in the polymer industry for people with your
qualifications.
I am a final year M.Sc. biochemistry student. What are the career
prospects after doing this course? I wish to do a professional
course. What are the related courses that can be done after
completing M.Sc. biochemistry?

Biochemists may work in industry, pharmaceutical houses,
hospitals, universities, or private research labs. The federal
government employs many biochemists, as do state and local
government agencies, and the rapidly growing field of
biotechnology has a great need for biochemists. Many jobs in
biochemistry involve high-level research and require advanced-
training. However, with the demand for biochemists at all levels
a variety of employment opportunities can be found with a
bachelor's degree. Some jobs available to graduates might include
that of a biochemist, medical or pharmaceutical lab technician,
food scientist, and industrial salesperson.
In addition, graduates in biochemistry may apply to professional
schools, such as medicine, dentistry, optometry, or veterinary
medicine. The graduate degree also provides a sound background
for pursuing advanced master's or a Ph.D. in biological sciences.
For positions that involve designing or directing research
projects, a Ph.D. is a must.
I am a commerce graduate with a diploma in investigation from the
`National Institute of Private Investigation'. I am keen on
