FINGER TIPS Ways to treat your team!
A SHORT break can hold a lot of promise! It can be rejuvenating
and even profitable. Especially, for a boss who is hard-pressed
to spend some quality time with his team.
The lunch break can be creatively used to gain mileage with team
members, win their trust, put them at ease and to motivate them.
Seven ways to treat your team to lunch:
Munch time
If your team believes in lunching together, use this opportunity
to spend time with them. Be informal and get to know each team
member.
Talk about neutral issues rather than discussing work. Remember
this is the time that most folk tend to unwind for a short while
before getting into the groove again.
A scenic pause
If it's been ages since you've jived with your team, take them
out.
Albeit, try to make it during the lunch hour so as to not to
disrupt their work schedule. Order for lunch packs and set out
for the nearest art gallery, a bowling alley or even the
neighbourhood park!
Take away
Or take your team out to lunch at a restaurant close by.
An informal, on the spur treat such as this can put the
enthusiasm back in your team's work life.
A real treat
Sponsor a lunch at the office. Order for some pizzas/burgers for
your team and eat out on the terrace or in your cabin, with some
coffee or coke thrown in.
At home
If you're adventurous enough, invite your team home for a home
cooked meal. This should help the team spirit soar higher.
On the road
Get a little creative. Kidnap your team to have lunch with a
difference. Visit a chaat joint and let them have whatever they
want to their heart's content.
For something more filling, there's the dhabha option too.
Tora tora
One is never too old for an amusement park! An hour of excitement
is perhaps just what your team needs.
However, this requires a long lunch break and is an ideal
unwinding treat to be given during weekends.
Just an excuse
Any small achievement is reason enough to celebrate. So give your
team a taste of luxury, a lunch at a five-star restaurant with
all the works. But of course, the company's exchequer needs to be
deep!
Whicheverway you choose to do it, you will have gained your
team's unstinted support.
