Working to change
CHANGE is constant, but it does not mean a new job or career. But jobs are not static and can change over time. Rather than wait for a change in your job, make attempts to bring some spark to it.
Intelligent people seek change and succeed in life. They adopt the "higher the risk, higher the returns" principle to transform their life and career.
Impressed? So, begin the process by making a list of things you can change and a list of those you cannot. Be true to yourself while preparing the list.
There is always more scope for change than we tend to imagine. It is time to question and challenge your assumptions and increase the list of things you can change.
Waiting for things to get better is a common problem. We wait passively for things to happen and situations to get better. However, you are the only person who can make it happen for you. Act immediately by taking small steps to make a change in your life.
Opportunities knock your door only when you act. Seek out change yourself. Our brain loses its competency when we experience monotony. Explore all possible ways in which you can enhance your life and change the aspects of your routine.
To seek out a change, step out of your comfort zone. Begin by taking small risks. Take responsibilities that require new skills or duties for which you have no prior experience. Remember, you can never gain experience without trying out a task.
Your environment will also influence your attitude. Change little things at your workplace such as redecorating your cubicle. Be open to new insights and new perspectives. In most cases, you can get help on change from a mentor. Prove to your mentor that you are eager to try out something new and he would always be ready to guide you.
Change your routine and add new activities frequently. Adding a new activity each week will add colour to your routine. Our mind will be more active when it has something new to do.
Try meeting new people. Get in touch with people whose insights can help change your life for the better. Join forums and online clubs that interest you.
Fun activities away from work can energise you to a great extent and improve your overall attitude towards life and career.
