The key to make a visit to the job fair successful is to come prepared. The first thing to do as soon as you enter the venue is to check out the place; the various stalls and see where you could best fit in.

A few pointers on how to be selective at the fair:

• Take a walk around the stalls first, keep your eyes open to see which recruiters attract the most attention

• Visit the stalls of those companies you would like to work for first then look at the others

• Large and well-known companies will naturally attract the largest crowds; hence it may be wise to target smaller companies first

A fair is not a place to keep silent, make sure that you talk to all the recruiters who interest you. So that in the process you gain some information and maybe impress the recruiter to even land a job!

The fair organised by The Hindu has Cognizant as the presenting sponsor. Verizon and HSBC are the associate sponsors. TMIfirst is the technology sponsor.
