Kids wear expo

All for kids.

YOU CAN identify a parent from a crowd. Just look for that extra glow in their eyes which comes from having someone special in their hands.

And if you want to meet some of them at one place, the sales of kids wear organised by Planet Kids at Imperial Trade Centre, M. G. Road is the spot.

The main factor that brings in many parents to the sales venues is of course, the price. All of the wares on display are given at a 50 per cent reduced price.

`All that we sell are international brands and in Western styles. It is only that we change our designs every six months. And during this phase, we have to sell out the old patterned clothes. Hence the sales,' says Prem Shivaram, of Planet Kids.

So it is only the design. And not the quality of the material, as he adds. It also means that wares that were available in high profile shops during this season are there in the offing.

Quite true to the label of a fast-growing metro, Kochi too should change the way it looks and dress it wears every season. And everything starts with kids, they say.

Not all sales take place in the rainy season. But then, as Mr. Shivaram puts it, `parents would not mind rain or sunshine, if they can get a good buy for their kids.' And as past discount sales indicate, city folk have a fondness for `bargains'. Whether they are notional or real ones!

And they move around rows of dress hung in the make-shift hall, with that proud gleam in their eyes.
