HARE KRISHNA, Hare Rama will rent the air when devotees celebrate the birthday of Lord Jagannath. The celebrations have been organised by the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), which is one of the worldwide organisations, which aims at educating society.
The organisation has been conducting the annual "Hare Krishna Festival" for school children for the past 12 years.
This year, the contests for the school children will be the Krishna Leela fancy dress competition, the Great Indian Quiz on "Indian Heritage", painting competition and story telling (Krishna Katha). Fancy dress competition is open to children below 10 years and quiz is open to students of 6th and 12th standards.
However, there is no age bar for the painting competition. The painting and story-telling competitions will be held on August 4 at Jagannath Mandir, Peelamedu.
The quiz will be held on August 3 at Sathyanarayana, Power House Road. The fancy dress competition will be conducted on August 31 at Jagannath Mandir.
