The break is over

The booty was shared by the proud winners.

The break is finally over. After a week of non-stop cultural extravaganza, the Technopark is slowly getting back to normal. The hangover, however, of `Tech-A-Break' is still not fully over for the techies.

Using the twelvth birthday as the Technopark as a springboard techies kissed computers goodbye as they geared up for Adzaps, rock shows, music n' dance competitions, personality contests and `war of Djs', to name but a few of the high- adrenalin events that was the way of life for the past week at Technopark.

Proving their suspicions, that they were a talented lot, correct, the techies proceeded to raise their standards of competitions to levels they themselves did not expect. With consummate ease `marketing officials' from various companies succeeded in convincing the audience why they should go in for such things as `kiss-proof lipstick' or a `dancing bindi' to light up their lives. That was of course for the Adzap.

Then it was the turn of the dance and music items. To the accompaniment of lights and music, the techies swung quite efficient shoes to revv up the war of Djs, even as the frenzies audience chanted the festival slogan, `Dis is Dat Place to do Dat Thing'. The organisers of Tech-A-Break saw to it that the festival did not turn out to be just a string of musical events. To throw the right spin on things, they had cobbled together such items as the CEO quiz and even a `Tug-O-War'.

The grand finale that took place on June 30 was the jewel in the crown as it were of Tech-A-Break. Sixty eager men and women had their eyes firmly on the titles `Ambassador' and Lady Ambassador' of the Technopark. After some gruelling personality tests, Tech-A-Break proclaimed Vijayaraghavan of the NeST as the Ambassador and Surpiya of IBS software as the Lady Ambassador. Nitya Mathew was also crowned as the `Envoy of Technopark'.

While the Ambassador and the `Lady' will take off to Singapore, the `Envoy' will fly to Kuwait and Oman. The techies of Technopark are back to their programming with one eye firmly cocked out for Tech-A-Break 2003.
