Blue parrot nests in Delhi

SANT FOOTWEAR, which has carved a niche for itself in Punjab, is now expanding its horizons and has opened a showroom in Model Town in the Capital. Targeting the avant-garde crowd, it has re-christened itself Blue Parrot. The footwear manufacturer has decided to continue selling ladies and children's shoes because of the conviction that in a household most of the purchases are done by housewives and children.

In the 80s Sant Footwear established itself in Ludhiana, whose industrialised character has earned it the epithet `Manchester of India', and then it spread its outlets throughout the state.

S.S. Kakkar says that national as well as leading international brands are up-for-grabs in their showroom.

"Every time somebody drops into our showroom he or she will always find a new collection. We are making sandals in a wide array of colours so that ladies can choose their favourite colour."

Ladies' purses are also available and are priced at competitive rates.

Kakkar promises that the Blue Parrot will be roosting shortly in Rajouri Garden too.
