Goa bans smoking in public places

PANAJI, JAN. 1. A prohibition on smoking and spitting in public places in Goa came into force from the New Year Day and any violation of the Prohibition on Smoking and Spitting Act, 1999, would attract a penalty of Rs. 1000 or imprisonment.
