Karunanidhi congratulates PM

CHENNAI, JAN. 1. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, today congratulated the Prime Minister, Mr. A. B. Vajpayee, for his deft handling of the hijack crisis leading to the safe return of the passengers.

In a fax message sent to Mr. Vajpayee, Mr. Karunanidhi said he was greatly relieved to learn that the crisis was over and the hostages had returned safely. ``This was possible due to your deft handling of the situation. I am sure your agony has abated. All the people feel a sigh of relief. I join the nation in congratulating you'', the Chief Minister said.
