MTNL, Sun TV tie up for Internet
NEW DELHI, JAN. 1. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd. (MTNL) has
entered into an agreement with the television entertainment
channel Sun TV to offer Internet services through cable and wide-
band data switching.
For this, the company which plans to diversify into value added
services such as high bandwidth video, e-commerce, wide-band
switched applications, using Internet and other wide-band
switching based Internet services, is setting up wholly owned
subsidiary, Millennium Telecom Ltd., a company release said.
Under the agreement MTNL would offer technical expertise and
equipment, while Sun TV would offer its cable network, to offer
Internet through cable in southern States, it added.
