Army Chief in Myanmar

NEW DELHI, JAN. 6. The Chief of Army Staff Gen. Mr. V. P. Malik, has flown on a two-day trip to Myanmar to chalk out new joint measures to curb the recent spate in militancy in the north-east.

Though official sources were tightlipped, informed sources said Gen. Malik, heading a high-level army team,would discuss with the Myanmar military brass measures against insurgents' bases inside Myanmar.
