Pak. judge shot dead
By Amit Baruah
ISLAMABAD, JAN. 7. A judge of the Balochistan High Court was shot
dead this morning by unidentified gunmen close to the High Court
building in Quetta, reports from the north-western Pakistani city
said.
Mr. Justice Mir Mohammad Nawaz Marri, tipped to take over as the
next Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, was inside his
car when the gunmen sprayed bullets on it and then fled.
The judge was rushed to hospital, but died before medical aid
could be provided.
Though the motive for the killing was not immediately clear, some
reports said it could be linked to a tribal feud.
