Global Infologistics in pact with U.S. firm

CHENNAI, JAN. 19. Global Infologistics, a Chennai based firm
(founded by Mr. V. Ramasamy and associates experienced in IT
related projects), is teaming up with Global Logistics Services
inc. of the U.S. for providing backup services for the latter.
Addressing presspersons here today Mr. V. Ramasamy said the U.S.
company, incorporated in the state of Delaware, would be
concentrating on business to business and business to consumer
(B2B and B2C) e-business and e-commerce solutions for the
customers in the U.K. and Europe.
He said both the companies had entered into a joint venture
agreement on a 50:50 basis in the Indian as well as overseas
operations. In the first phase the Indian operations would
involve an investment of Rs. 6 crores, he said.
Mr. Michael Tallent, one of the founders of the Global Logistics
Services inc., said the proposed infrastructure in the U.S. and
the U.K. would cost $ 4 million (Rs. 17 crores) and in the first
three years the overseas operations would earn a total revenue of
$200 million.
Mr. T. K. Rangasamy, a director of Global Infologistics said the
company was on the look out for a space in Tidel Park (IT
infrastructure complex), coming up near Chennai.
