Pak. resorts to mortar firing
NEW DELHI, JAN. 24. Pakistani troops resorted to heavy mortar
firing in the Krishna Ghati and Pallanwala sectors of the Jammu
region injuring two Indian soldiers, official sources said here
today. They said the intermittent firing from Pakistani troops,
which continued for the whole of yesterday, intensified during
the night in the Krishna Ghati and Pallanwala areas.
The Pakistani troops fired mortar shells besides using small and
medium arms. However, the Indian troops retaliated and silenced
the Pakistani guns, they said.
Meanwhile, an Islamabad report says Pakistan has sought to
conceal the number of Army casualties in its attack on an Indian
post , saying about five soldiers were ``missing'' since the
clash at the LoC.
