Front Page \| Previous \| Next By-elections notified By Our Special Correspondent NEW DELHI, JAN. 24. The notification for holding of by-elections to Bellary and Kannauj Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh on February 17 were issued today marking the opening of filing of nominations. While the by-election to Bellary was necessitated following resignation by the Congress president, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, who was also elected from Amethi, Kannauj was vacated by the Samajwadi Party president, Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav who retained his Sambal seat in Uttar Pradesh. Along with by-elections to these two parliamentary seats, by- elections to 30 Assembly seats in 11 States would also be held on February 17. Send this article to Friends by E-Mail
