Sinha to lead delegation to Davos
NEW DELHI, JAN. 24.The Finance Minister, Mr. Yashwant Sinha, will
lead a 45-member delegation to the annual meeting of the World
Economic Forum (WEF), beginning on Thursday in Davos,
Switzerland.
The Indian delegation will include the Andhra Pradesh Chief
Minister, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Karnataka,
Mr. S. M. Krishna, the Finance Secretary, Mr. P.G. Mankad and the
CII president, Mr. Rahul Bajaj, among others.
The Prime Minister, Mr. A. B. Vajpayee, was to lead the
delegation but decided not to go in the wake of Assembly
elections next month.
The delegation would project the economic developments in India
and opportunities for building new partnerships in a session on
`India: new beginnings on economic reforms', a CII release said.
Over 2,000 corporate leaders from all over the world are expected
to participate.
