Steps to tackle ISI menace in Maharashtra

NAGPUR, JAN. 24. The Maharashtra Government is equipping police with sophisticated arms and communication systems and upgrading the intelligence-gathering to check activities of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in the State, the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Chagan Bhujbal, has said.

Mobike-riding commandos, similar to London's Bobby would also be deployed soon in Mumbai to check crime, he said at a meet-the- press programme here on Sunday.

The mobike squad, which had been given intensive training, would be equipped with small and long range firearms, walkie-talkie sets, mobile phones, first-aid kits and a new uniform for easy identification, he said.
