India protests arrest of programmers
WASHINGTON, JAN 28. India has protested against the recent arrest
of 40 Indian programmers at Randolph Air Base near San Antonio by
the U.S. Immigration and Naturalisation Service (INS) on grounds
of alleged visa violations.
``We have conveyed our protest to the U.S. State Department and
the department has promised to investigate the incident,''
Washington Times quoted the Indian ambassador to the U.S., Mr.
Naresh Chandra as saying.
