India today warned that globalisation could lead
to economic destablisation and said world leaders should take
steps to ensure equitable growth in developing countries.

A Kenya Airways passenger plane, carrying some

SC dismisses plea of Judge
The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition
from Mr. Jaisingh Wadhu Singh, absconding Mumbai judge
(petitioner) seeking ``anticipatory bail'' and quashing a ``FIR''
linking him allegedly with the underworld don, Chota Shakeel, to
recover some huge amounts due to him in return for certain
favours in his official capacity to the don.

Top leader of the banned National Socialist
Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah), Mr. Thuingaleng Muivah, has
been re-arrested at Hatyai in Thailand, while trying to flee to
Singapore, jumping bail.
FICCI chief expects a positive budget
The president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce
and Industry (FICCI), Mr. G. P. Goenka, says the domestic
industry is strongly opposed to further tariff reductions as part
of the process of trade liberalisation. ``It is time to worry,''
he says while insisting that industry needs to be compensated
through steps like reducing interest rates for cuts in import
duties.
