Moves on to mollify Meira
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, FEB. 3. The Congress(I) has deputed the CWC member,
Mr. Bhajan Lal, to persuade Ms. Meira Kumar to withdraw her
resignation from the party and the CWC. Four candidates for the
Haryana Assembly elections were changed today. The new candidates
are supporters of Ms. Kumar.
Despite the request of the party president, Ms. Sonia Gandhi, and
several CWC members, Ms. Kumar ruled out the possibility of a
rethink and described the Congress(I) as a ``rudderless party''.
