Fake currency being pumped in: Vajpayee
The Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee,
today indirectly charged Pakistan with attempting to disrupt
India's economy by pumping in fake currency notes, even as he
said that this country had the potential to become a big power
which ``all friends and enemies are aware of''.
PM for non-partisan experts on review panel
In an attempt to broadbase the proposed
Constitution Review Commission, the Prime Minister, Mr. Atal
Behari Vajpayee, is believed to have instructed that to the
extent possible first-rate, non-partisan constitutional experts
should be anointed as members.
No 'Water' shooting in India: Singhal
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today said
filmmaker, Ms. Deepa Mehta, will not be allowed to shoot her
proposed film Water in any part of the country as its script
outraged the ``ancient Indian culture and traditions''. The VHP
president, Mr. Ashok singhal, told reporters here that ``the
script of the film smacks of a conspiracy by the votaries of
western culture to tarnish the image of widowhood in India''.
Probe ordered into bus burning
A CB CID inquiry has been ordered into the
Dharmapuri bus burning incident in which three women
undergraduates of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University were
charred to death on Wednesday.

The former Chief Justice, Mr. Justice M. N.

Police today foiled a bid by Bajrang Dal
activists to lock up the Gujarat Pradesh Congress(I) Committee
headquarters here to protest against the Madhya Pradesh
Congress(I) Chief Minister, Mr. Digvijay Singh, refusing the Dal
permission for holding its national convention in Bhopal from
February 18.
Brothers become militants' victims
Tragedy struck two brothers who were travelling in
a car when militants detonated two IEDs in Eidgah locality of
Srinagar this morning when a BSF ambulance was going to Soura.
The car was behind the ambulance.
