Israel, Lebanon continue attacks
BEIRUT, FEB. 11. Israeli jets renewed air strikes late yesterday
against Southern Lebanon as guerillas kept up their tit-for-tat
attacks, Lebanese police said.
An Israeli helicopter carried out a night raid on the outskirts
of the market-town of Nabatiyeh, the police said. The raid came
shortly after Muslim guerillas attacked the Israeli post in
Dabhse post, the police said.
The Hezbollah said in a statement that its guerillas detonated a
`large roadside bomb' near Yaroun, inside Israel's self-
proclaimed security zone. Hezbollah sources said the bomb
inflicted casualties among the ranks of the patrol.
Israeli artillery also blasted areas at the edge of the buffer
zone shortly after the attacks. Israeli jets earlier yesterday
conducted 10 raids on areas in the Iqlim al Tuffah region and the
western Bekaa valley.
The Hezbollah and the pro-Syrian Amal movement have launched a
series of attacks against Israeli troops inside the border zone.
Amal said its guerillas fired mortar bombs and anti- tank rockets
at an Israeli patrol and two Mirkava tanks going into the
Beauforte castle on the edge of the central sector of the
occupied border zone.
