3 killed in Kashmir blast

JAMMU, FEB. 11. At least three persons were killed and 25 others
injured when a powerful bomb exploded in Jammu city on Friday.
The injured are battling for life.
Police said that an explosive device was thrown by a scooter-
borne youth outside the Science College on Canal Road. The blast
occurred in the over crowded market. Three were killed on the
spot. The blast left many injured. Their condition is stated to
be critical.
Blood was splattered on the road. So were pieces of glass, as
vehicles coming from different directions collided with each
other in panic.
Senior civil and police authorities rushed to the spot.
Shopkeepers downed their shutters soon after the incident and
blocked the road condemning the blast.
The Chief Minister, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, has expressed deep shock
over the death and directed the police to investigate the matter.
