Musharraf speaks of 'war hysteria'

ISLAMABAD, FEB. 22. Pakistan's military ruler, Gen. Pervez Musharraf has accused the Indian leadership of ``trying to create a war hysteria'' and warned New Delhi of ``serious consequences'' if war was ``imposed'' by it.

``The Indian leadership is deliberately trying to create a war hysteria,'' Gen. Musharraf told a two-day conference of Corps Commanders which began at Rawalpindi on Monday, according to a report in an English daily Dawn today. It quoted informed sources as saying that Gen. Musharraf ``warned of serious consequences if India tried to impose a war on Pakistan.''
