Tanishq pact with UAE firm
MUMBAI, FEB. 22. In a bid to make its presence felt in the global
branded jewellery market, Tanishq, the jewellery division of
Titan Industries, has entered into a partnership with United Arab
Emirates (UAE)-based retail chain, Dhamas, for retailing its 22-
karat gold jewellery.
``Tanishq range of jewellery will be available at eight of the 32
retail outlets which Dhamas has across the UAE and we are drawing
up a product development plan specific to that country, which has
a large NRI and Asian population", Mr. Vasant Nangia, vice
president (jewellery), Titan Industries, told newpersons here
today.
The maiden foray of Tanishq abroad, which would coincide with the
Dubai shopping festival next month, is a step aimed at
reinforcing the quality-price proposition of its brands along
with the already established titan range of watches in the
region, he said and added that it had shortlisted three outlets
in Sri Lanka for retailing its jewellery there.
Mr. Nangia said Tanishq had been exporting privately branded
jewellery to Europe, Australia and the U.S. and the foray was to
establish its own brand.
