Getting ready for 'shaastra'
IIT MADRAS, is now getting ready for the after-effects of
`Saarang'. `Shaastra' is the next big fest on the cards, starting
March 9. A festival for the engineering and management students,
what is brewing next is a ``sumptuous spread of Innovation,
Competition, Live Demonstrations, Online Events and other such
food for thought''.
An effort to bring on one platform all the best minds in the
country, `Shaastra' has a line up starting with a paper
presentation contest (Aavishkar for which entries can still be
sent with queries addressed to shaastra2k@acer.iitm.ernet.in), a
design contest (Blue-Print), the Breakthrough contest for
original revolutionary entrepreneurship ideas, workshops,
lectures and demonstrations, software events including a hacking
contest, four quizzes, a mathematical modelling exhibition, a
simulated stock market Bulls Eye and more.
And on the lighter side, `Shaastra' has in store sci-fi movies
every night, being planned as a part of `Total Recall'. The
Informals stall will be there too, throughout the day, a seminar
being planned at the same venue.``We are in the process of
fleshing out the events and more details are available on the
Shaastra website www.iitm.ac.in/shaastra,'' says IITian
Vignesh.``From a school student to a rocket scientist, from a
bookworm to the fun-filled enthusiast, `Shaastra 2000' promises
to provide something for everyone. You just have to be there,''
the organisers say.
