Old boys meet
WHEN OLD boys get together, it could be quite an evening.
When old boys got together for the first ever reunion seminar of
Zone 5 and 6, the Rotary Foundation Alumni Association (RFAA)
opted for Dakshina Chitra, far from the madding crowd.
To the Group Study Exchange teams from the United States and
United Kingdom, the venue was Paradise Found.
``Amazing,'' Mr. Roy Alexander Brocklebank, the leader of the UK
GSE team said of his experience.
After the first-timers had a quick exploration of Dakshina
Chitra, and a lightning shopping spree for souvenirs, it was soon
time for business.
The guest of honour, Mr.B.Vijayaraghavan appealed to every
Rotarian to adopt his own street, taking off on the `Charity
begins at home' mantra.
The District Governor Ms. Rekha Shetty summarised projects which
she said the RFAA could consider.
The Puppet show, a one-man show by the artiste from Thanjavur,
was a modern depiction of `Krishna Leela,' partly in English for
the benefit of the tourists.
Tiger dance, Fire dance and then Indian classical music kept the
Rotarians occupied as traditional South Indian food was served.
