By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, MARCH 12. Two persons, who posed as naxalites and tried to extort a huge sum of money from a jewellery shop owner near Ameerpet, were nabbed by the Task Force (east zone) team on Saturday.

A jewellery merchant lodged a police complaint with the Station House Officer at Panjagutta on Saturday, saying he was receiving threatening calls from someone claiming to be a PWG naxalite, and demanding Rs. 10 lakhs to be paid. The man wanted the money given on March 11 at 11.30 pm at a hotel near Greenlands. A trap was laid by the Police, and the merchant gave the money to the man who was nabbed by the police.
