Brussels Amsterdam, Paris stock exchanges announce merger plans
BRUSSELS, MARCH 20. The Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris stock
exchanges today announced plans to merge, creating Europe's
second largest market after London.
In a joint communique, the bourses said the new market, to be
named Euronext, will be the largest stock exchange within the 11-
nation Euroland in terms of capitalisation and sales volume.
