JV in vehicle tracking system
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad based Bathina Technolgoies (India) (B-
TIL) has signed an MoU with EMNET (Emergency Networks) for
jointly executing projects and to set up a major vehicle tracking
system with GPS, GIS and satellite and wireless communication
technologies. EMNET is promoted by Mr. Sam Pitroda, and Mr. M. N.
Chaini, President of Reliance Industries. B-TIL acquired the
Secunderabad based Octal Systems and APEL Radio Communications
Systems (ARCS).

Fascel to expand operations
AHMEDABAD: Fascel's subscriber base has crossed the one lakh mark
among non-metro category of cities. Mr. K. V. Seshasayee,
Chairman of the company said it would soon cover almost the
entire State by opening services in Jamnagar and Junagdh
districts in the Saurashtra region. It would also provide
Internet services on mobiles in collaboration with Nokia which
would soon be globally marketing handsets equipped to receive
Internet. Mr. Seshasayee denied that the Hinduja group which
along with the Sumitomo Corporation of Japan hold 30 per cent
stake in Fascel, had any plans to quit the company.

E-service company launched
CHENNAI: Leading professionals in the IT industry have come
together to launch CustomerAsset.com, a global e-service company.
CustomerAsset.com, is incorporated in Mauritius, will have wholly
owned subsidiaries in India, U. K and in the U.S and will offer a
complete range of customer interaction and data management
services tailored to meet the needs of dot.com clients
internationally. CustomerAsset.com will invest Rs. 60 crore in

Escosoft's alliance with IFS and IIS
CHENNAI: Escosoft, the software subsidiary of Escorts, IFS, the
world's fastest growing company in business applications and IIS
Infotech, the Indian representative of IFS and a leading Indian
software subsidiary of the U. K based F. I group, have entered
into strategic alliance. This partnership will focus on expanding
IFS enterprise business through the combined strength of the
partners. This will include the creation of a competency centre

Balurghat Transport's foray into IT
CHENNAI: The expansion and diversification plans of Balurghat
Transport Company have been approved by the shareholders at the
extraordinary general board meeting held in Calcutta recently.
Balurghat Transport will be changing its name to Balurghat
Technologies for entering into the field of Information
Technology. The company proposes to launch IT division to take up
initially software development, Internet services, multimedia,
portal development and E-commerce. The transport division which
has been the principal area of activity so long, would continue
to operate with the new zeal, according to a release.

Jewels exhibition
CHENNAI: The Chennai edition of Jewels 2000 series of exhibition
is all set to hit the city from March 31 to April 3. Organised by
ANZ International Trade and Marketing Associates, the second
edition at Chennai will be bigger, according to a release. Jewels
2000 is a series of exhibition to be held in number of important
cities across the country during the course of the year
displaying a wide variety of jewellery from different parts of
the country under one roof. The organisation has completed the
exhibition at Ahmedabad in January and in Coimbatore in February.
More than 40 leading renowned jewellers from New Delhi, Jaipur,
Mumbai, Cochin, Bangalore and Chennai will be displaying latest
and best of their millennium collections.
