Evangelist of love

THE HEART OF SAI: R. Lowenberg; Sai Towers Publishing, 3/497, Main Road, Prasanthi Nilayam-515134. Rs. 130.

SEVERAL DEVOTEES of Sri Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi, particularly those from foreign countries, have brought out books on their association with him and how they had derived benefit from him. Many have extolled him for having cured their illnesses and provided them mental peace.

The author of the book under review is one such beneficiary and like others, he believes that Sai is an Avatar and provides details about the innumerable ``miracles'' he had performed.

His first book, having received good response, this book written nearly 20 years ago, commences with a message of Sri Sai and then narrates how several of those who had sought his grace have experienced total satisfaction. For him, Baba is an evangelist of love and devotion.

A substantial section reproduces the questions raised by Mr. Karanjia in his tabloid covering several aspects of Baba's life, miracles and message with answers from Baba. For instance, the various articles which he materialises are symbols of his protection.

Leaving away the grace that Sai has conferred on several of his devotees, it is pertinent to recall in this reprint of the author's impression when people from all religions were present on a Christmas day and his speech, ``People are tired of the hackneyed half-truths being spread in temples, churches, synagogues, and mosques of the world and are seeking a true religion which will give them peace. The result is that these institutions are becoming jealous of Baba's ability to draw people to him, despite the fact that he does not proselytise or advertise in any way''.

``But any one who has experienced Baba's universal divine love can never be made to believe anything evil about him. He is the most powerful incarnation of God that has ever visited this earth in human form.''

The author has given the quintessence of Sai Baba's teachings and the path of Dharma he has shown.
