Kerosene, LPG costlier

NEW DELHI, MARCH 22. The Government tonight announced a hike in the administered prices of cooking gas (LPG), kerosene and aviation turbine fuel (ATF).

The decision to raise the prices was taken here today at a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), according to the Petroleum Minister, Mr. Ram Naik. The price of kerosene has been more than doubled with a rise of Rs. 2.50 a litre ex- storage. This will bring the retail prices to Rs. 5.46 a litre in Delhi and Rs. 5.64 a litre in Chennai. The LPG price has also been steeply raised with an increase of Rs. 30 a cylinder ex- storage.
