'U.S. must support India for U.N. seat'
WASHINGTON, MARCH 22. The Republican Congressman, Mr. Bill Mc.
Collum, today lauded the U.S. President, Mr. Bill Clinton's
efforts to strengthen relations with India and appealed to him to
support India's membership to the U.N. Security Council.
Both the U.S. and India, he said, ring unique qualities to the
partnership that holds great potential for both countries.
Referring to Mr. Vajpayee's remarks that India was committed not
to conduct further nuclear explosive tests, Mr. Mc Collum said it
was a signal of India'scommitment to a mutually beneficial
partnership with the U.S.
