VMF Soft bags $1 m contract
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad based VMF Soft Tech has bagged two
turnkey off-shore software development projects from the U.S. and
an on-site web based systems development project, in all
amounting to $1 million. Mr. P. Krishnam Raju, Managing Director,
and Mr. Udayan Mandavia, CEO, said at a press conference here
that one more portal which was on buying lawn and garden
equipment and the other was the development of a palm-top based
medical records system, with interface to client server and web
based systems for medium to large hospitals and clinics.

KCTL's solutions for human resources
CHENNAI: Kalki Communication Technologies (Private) Limited
(KCTL) has introduced a unique software package, Resume Manager
2.1, for total human resource solutions. This package aims at
completely automating the process of recruitment. It has features
such as a full-fledged e-mail client, walk-in module for online
testing and Visa module for processing overseas recruitment.

TCS plans centre near Hitec City
HYDERABAD: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is planning to set up
a world-class state-of-the-art `Technology Centre' on a five acre
site in Madhapur (near HITEC City) at an investment of about Rs.
20 crores.
Mr. V. Chandrasekhar, Regional Manager, TCS, said at a press
conference here on Wednesday that the site had been allotted by
the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC)
very near to the HITEC City. Work on the facility, which could be
between 1.5 lakh sq. ft. and 2 lakh sq. ft. - would commence by
Ugadi and be ready in one year, he said.

Trade-India.com's new search facility
CHENNAI: Trade-India.com a leading business website has created a
`keyword search' facility for a wider access to information on
the products available for exports. The website, which registered
half a million hits, has also made available a free business
bulletin service where offer to buy and sell can be hosted
independently by anyone browsing the site. The website, conceived
by Mr. Bikky Khosla, Managing Director of Infocom Network
provides business and trade information on the Indian industry
globally since 1996.
Web enabled information system
HYDERABAD: The Florida (U.S.) based Sankaty Group Inc (SGI), has
entered into a product partnership agreement with Hyderabad based
Pragma Technical Solutions (PTS) to develop the web enabled
myEIS.com, an ASP based executive information system which
provides data warehousing technology on Internet, for the food
service industry. Mr. Bradley S. Anderson, President, SGI, and
Mr. K. S. Murthy, Managing Director of PTS, said, product
development was on a revenue sharing basis. Mr. Murthy said PTS
had six product partnership programmes (PPPs) for developing
products at cost for companies based in the U.S. and Europe,
which are to be completed by December.
