Convention proposed for Vindhya State

By Our Staff Correspondent

BHOPAL, MARCH 24. The Speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Mr. Shrinivas Tiwari, has invited people's representatives from the Vindhya region to attend a convention here on March 27 to draw a detailed blueprint and strategy for formation of a separate Vindhya State.

In a letter to the people's representatives from the Vindhya region bordering Uttar Pradesh, the Speaker has drawn attention to a private member's resolution passed by the Assembly on March 10 to pave the way for the Madhya Pradesh Government to take appropriate steps for the creation of a separate Vindhya State.

Pointing out that the resolution is now being sent to the Central Government, the Speaker has emphasised the need for comprehensive discussion on this important issue. He has also announced that a special forum would be created at this convention for the creation of a separate Vindhya Pradesh.
