Oman for good ties between India, Pak.

DUBAI, MARCH 27. Oman has expressed full support to the United States' efforts to normalise relations between India and Pakistan, reiterating Muscat's ``desire to see that such efforts are fruitful.''

Oman's Foreign Minister, Yusuf Bin Alawi Bin Abdallah, was quoted as saying in the media that his country was in close proximity with India and Pakistan and maintained good relations with both the nations. Muscat was very keen to ``see these two neighbouring countries get closer and seek better relations for their own benefit and that of other countries in the region.''

Mr. Abdallah's statement came following talks between the U.S. President, Mr. Bill Clinton, and Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, ruler of Oman, on Saturday night.
