Kamlesh Kumar prevails over Deepak
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, MARCH 27. Kamlesh Kumar Prasad of the 1st Signal
Training Centre recovered from a shaky start to prevail over
Deepak of Delhi `B'in two rounds in the flyweight quarterfinals
of the Coca-Cola YMCA boxing championship at the Jai Singh Road
ring here on Monday.
Kamlesh was trailing 1-4 at the end of the first round, but he
not only bounced back in style to take an 8-7 lead by the second
round with sharp punches against his onrushing rival, but also
inflicted an injury on the Delhi lad which forced the doctor to
stop the contest.
In fact, the doctor was kept busy through the evening, as many
suffered cuts.
In the sub-junior section, Krishan Kumar of Delhi scored a 16-15
victory over M. Rishikanta Singh of Imphal. The latter did well
in the first and third rounds to earn seven and six points
against five and four by his opponent, but was overwhelmed in the
second round when he managed two points to seven by the Delhi
