Former PMs
Sir, - The former Prime Ministers have floated their own informal
club. They meet occasionally to discuss current affairs. It is a
good practice but one cannot expect any impact out of it on the
administration, as all the former Prime Ministers are no longer
mass leaders.
Mr. H. D. Deve Gowda was having followers in southern parts of
Karnataka but not now. Mr. I. K. Gujral and Mr. V. P. Singh had
never had mass base. Perhaps Mr. Chandra Shekhar may have some
pockets of support. Their meeting somehow is attracting a lot of
media attention.
V. A. Gopala,
Bangalore
