Khetan Anand, brother in police custody
MUMBAI, APRIL 5. Ketan and Vivek, sons of late film producer
Chetan Anand, charged with conspiracy to kill former actress
Priya Rajvansh, were today remanded to police custody along with
two others until April 10 by a local court which turned down the
bail plea of the two brothers.
Priya's maid Mala Choudhary and Ashok Chinnappa Swamy, charged
with executing the murder, were also remanded to police custody
by the Metropolitan Magistrate, Mr. P. P. Shiroshe, who felt that
custodial interrogation of the accused was needed.
Priya, who shared a close relationship with Chetan Anand and
stayed with him for several years until the latter's death in
1997, was found dead in the producer's bungalow at Juhu.
Police alleged that the murder was the result of a dispute over
the Juhu bungalow of late Chetan Anand in which Priya, Ketan and
Vivek had equal shares.
