PM releases stamp on Arya Samaj
NEW DELHI, APRIL 5. The Prime Minister, Mr. A. B. Vajpayee, today
released a special postal stamp and first day cover to mark 125
years of the `Arya Samaj' movement and stressed the vital role
played by it in ridding Indian society of evils such as
untouchability.
The Prime Minister said his goal was not only social reform but
also social transformation. Swami Dayanand's message was not
targeted at any particular religious group.Earlier, presenting
the multi-coloured stamp of Rs. 3 denomination with the message
Tamso ma Jyotirgamya (from darkness to light) to the Prime
Minister, the Communications Minister, Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan, said
Swami Dayanand Saraswati's message was just as relevant today.
The Prime Minister also released a special logo designed by the
`Sarvadeshik Arya Pratinidhi Sabha' (international Arya league)
to mark 125 years of the movement.
