Governor's encounter with prisoner

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, APRIL 5. The Governor, Dr. C.Rangarajan, who visited the Central jail today to distribute sweets to prisoners on the occasion of Ugadi, was told by a naxalite prisoner, Mr. Sakamuri Appa Rao, to put a stop to fake encounters, and force the Government to order a judicial enquiry into the Koyyuru encounter in which three top naxalite leaders died.

Mr. Appa Rao also told the Governor: ``You are an eminent economist. You know the ills of the World Bank aid. The threat of World Bank is real, and it means unbearable burden on the people. Do something about it''. The Governor excused himself and walked away saying ``you are treading on a much wider context now.''
