Indian envoy denies he was summoned by SA Govt.
The Indian High Commission in Pretoria has not been contacted, officially or unofficially, by the South African Government on the recent reports from New Delhi charging the South African cricket team captain, Hansie Cronje, and four colleagues, of match-fixing, the High Commissioner said today.

BCCI panel will discuss case: Muthiah
The president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the president, Mr. A. C. Muthiah, said he would react to the charges of match-fixing against five South African players only after the particulars were made available by the authorities.

'Pak. will act against jehadi outfits'
Islamabad would stop militants trying to cross its borders to fight Indian security forces in Kashmir, the Pakistan Foreign Minister, Mr. Abdul Sattar, was quoted as saying. The British newspaper, Telegraph , quoted Mr. Sattar as saying on April 6 that Islamabad would ``act against'' organisations that encourage volunteers to fight the ``jehad'' in Kashmir.

BSF personnel killed
A BSF inspector was among three people killed in a fierce encounter in Tral area of south Kashmir today, in which 17 houses and 20 other structures were gutted leaving hundreds of residents homeless. Four people were killed in other militancy-related incidents.

Rabri must go: Sheila Dixit
The Delhi Chief Minister, Ms.Sheila Dixit, today said that despite having got bail in the disproportionate assets case, the Bihar Chief Minister, Mrs. Rabri Devi, should resign on moral grounds.

Tapping details kept secret
To expose the ``betting racket'' involving the South African cricket captain, Hansie Cronje, the Crime Branch of Delhi police had kept details of the mobile phones being tapped by it in total secrecy.
