Indian being freed after 26 years in Pak. jail
An Indian national detained on charges of
spying in Pakistani jails for the last 26 years, is all set to be
released in Lahore on Friday, Brigadier Rao Abid Hamid (retd) of
the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), told this
correspondent over telephone from Lahore today.
PM calls for report on attack on nuns
The Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari
Vajpayee, has directed the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. Ram
Prakash Gupta, to send a detailed report on the assault on nuns
and a priest in Mathura district two days ago.
'No communal angle in attack on nuns'
The Uttar Pradesh Government today said two of
the three cases of attacks on Christians in Mathura had been
worked out and asserted there was no communal angle to these

Extradition part of inquiry: envoy

Palmolein issue price reduced
The Cabinet Committee on Prices today
decided to reduce the central issue price of palmolein from Rs.
20,000 to Rs. 18,000 per tonne for the oil sold to State
Governments in bulk and from Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 20,000 for the oil
sold in 15 kg tins.
Hospital refuses to discharge Kishan Kumar
The Kailash Hospital authorities at Noida,
near here, refused to discharge actor, Kishan Kumar, late this
evening after going on record that he was ``medically fit'' and
police could take him into custody.
29 electrocuted in Ram Navami fete
Ram Navami celebrations in the Chotanagpur
belt of south Bihar ended on a tragic note when at least 29
revellers, mostly youths were electrocuted early today. A three-
year-old girl was killed and four persons were injured.
Shoot orders in Tripura
